The LEARN TO SWIM SCHEME is for children 4-12 years inclusive. The support is expressed through designated teaching centres and affiliated swimming clubs and may only be given where management is properly involved; where teachers hold the relevant teaching qualifications, where any input of goods can be controlled, where the effectiveness of the support can be accurately monitored and where the sponsor can be identified as supporters of the scheme.
SPONSOR
Southern Water will provide assistance to centres enrolled on the LEARN TO SWIM SCHEME as follows;
1. A range of teaching aids can be ordered each year.
2. Learn to Swim Certificates, Safety Leaflets, Vinyl Swim Bags and various other promotional items will be provided free for each child.
3. Two Banners will be provided free for each centre.
4. Learn to Swim T-shirts will be provided free to teachers who teach children enrolled onto the Scheme.
CENTRES / CLUBS
1. Centres must display two banners promoting them as sponsors of the Scheme and use the equipment provided by Southern Water during lessons that are part of the Scheme.
2. Teachers must wear T-shirts provided by Southern Water when teaching lessons that are included in the Scheme.
3. Centres and Clubs must distribute the promotional items provided by Southern Water to the children as appropriate. Each child enrolled on the scheme is to receive a bag, a letter to their parents and a safety leaflet on enrolment and a certificate and any other promotional items that Southern Water may provide when they have completed their course of beginners classes and are able to move up to improvers classes.
4. Centres and Clubs are requested to acknowledge Southern Water’s sponsorship of the LEARN TO SWIM SCHEME by including reference to this in their leaflets promoting their various swimming lessons.
